Japanese-Inspired Incense Burner / Twig Holder #03

$99.00

#03

These incense burners were inspired by a recent trip to Japan.

The base of each piece is larch, burned and brushed back in the style of traditional shou sugi ban, revealing a deep grain and a dark, calming depth.

Each one is topped with a small stone collected on walks and travels, the sort of little stones you notice, pocket, and save.

A single drilled opening lets you use it as an incense holder, or place a twig, a dried stem, or a single flower. The contrast between the charred timber and the quiet simplicity of the stone reflects the sense of balance I found throughout Japan.

These pieces are made to be used gently light the incense, place a twig, add a small flower, or simply enjoy it as it is.
